Our bureau was formed in response to rapid aging of the population here in Contra Costa County. The older population is expected to almost double during the next twenty years with the greatest growth among those over age 85.

We provide vital services to older adults and to younger adults with disabilities assisting them to live as independently as possible and helping them to avoid inappropriate institutional care.

Aging & Adult Services also provides access to adequate nutrition and to health care services for families and adults by determining eligibility for the Food Stamps and Medi-Cal programs.

We work in partnership with consumer advocates, community organizations, and community leaders to develop a community based system of care here in Contra Costa County.
